In case you missed it, last week Burnaby-based Acuva Technologies, an Innovate BC supported company, announced the closing of $5.4M in growth financing to meet global demand for its proprietary UV-LED drinking water systems.
The cleantech company is focused on delivering point-of-use water purification systems using leading-edge technology developed at the University of British Columbia. And now, with a syndicate of existing and new investors, they’re delivering their innovative drinking water purification systems to global consumers.
"Securing this round of financing is further validation of Acuva's vision to enable clean drinking water globally and is a testament to the market's appetite for our technology and products," says Manoj Singh, CEO of Acuva.
In 2018, Acuva was awarded $300,000 in Ignite funding for this project, which helped them develop and commercialize high precision purifiers that require no maintenance and little power, making clean water accessible all over the world, even in developing nations.
"We look forward to continuing our work in enabling clean drinking water and beyond," says Singh. "We are in a strong position to capitalize on our many growth opportunities and momentum."
