Tom Nyberg

Recognized for his strategic leadership and product making experience for global markets and customers, Mr. Nyberg works at Safe Fleet as Vice President, Product Management where his team provides advanced video surveillance and evidence management solutions for Public Transit, School Bus, Law Enforcement and Waste&Recycling Industries.

Prior to Safe Fleet, Mr Nyberg lead the creation of Digital Transformation Solutions at Finning, world’s largest Caterpillar Dealer, serving Finning’s global customer base in Construction, Mining, Energy and Transportation sectors.

Between 2012-2017, Mr. Nyberg was Senior Director and General Manager at Samsung Research Canada and its Vancouver Enterprise Lab. He managed the initial ramp-up and day to day operations of the site focusing on mobile payment and Samsung KNOX™ enterprise mobile security solutions.

Prior to joining Samsung Canada, Mr Nyberg held a series of senior product, software and business development roles at Nokia. Through international positions in Germany, the U.S. and Canada.

Mt Nyberg also serves as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Finland to BC and Yukon. As an Honorary Consul, Mr. Nyberg promotes economic and cultural relations between Finland and Canada, and works directly with Government entities and companies of both countries.

He holds a Master of Science (Engineering) degree from Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University). He has been decorated with Knight First Class of the Order of the Lion of Finland.

Over the past several years, he has contributed to the Vancouver technology sector through various roles and currently serves as member of Dean’s External Advisory Council of SFU’s Faculty of Applied Sciences.
