VANCOUVER, JULY 3, 2024 — Innovate BC is pleased to announce two new board members to its Board of Directors, Marilyn Loewen Mauritz and Hana Doubrava, along with the reappointment of Edo De Martin, a returning board member. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be invaluable in helping Innovate BC to fulfill its mission of establishing B.C. as a global innovation leader by fostering a thriving innovation ecosystem across the province.
“I’m pleased to welcome Marilyn Loewen Mauritz and Hana Doubrava onto the board of directors at Innovate BC and congratulate Edo De Martin on being reappointed,” said Brenda Bailey, Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation. “The incredible breadth of experience each brings to the board will help the innovation ecosystem continue to grow and thrive in our province.”
Mauritz brings over 20 years of experience as a senior executive with a proven track record of delivering high-impact results and creating sustainable, long-term value for multi-stakeholder organizations. Currently, she advises small and medium-sized companies on strategy, legal and governance to scale and expand their businesses. Mauritz formerly served as the Chief Organizational Development Officer at Atlas Corp. and has held several senior executive positions at Central 1 Credit Union, including interim CEO and Chief Transformation and Legal Officer.
Doubrava is a seasoned public and corporate affairs professional and a strong advocate for innovation and strategic partnerships. As the Director of Corporate Affairs at Microsoft, Doubrava has been instrumental in shaping the company's presence in Vancouver and British Columbia, fostering key initiatives such as the Cascadia Innovation Corridor and DIGITAL (Supercluster), and advising on the growth and strategic direction of the Development Centre.

De Martin has served on Innovate BC’s Board of Directors since 2021 and has over 25 years of experience in software development, focusing on cutting-edge technologies. Currently, he is the CEO & Co-Founder of Industrio AI, a company that specializes in AI and DataOps services that drive industry progress. He formerly held leadership positions at Microsoft, including serving as a General Manager in the Microsoft Dynamics division. Additionally, De Martin uses his expertise to support organizations that are shaping the Canadian tech ecosystem like DIGITAL, Canada’s Global Innovation Cluster for digital technologies.
