Innovate BC invests $150,000 in clean tech mining project
Jetti Resources, a natural resources tech startup based in Vancouver, is leveraging $150,000 in Innovate BC Ignite Program funding to further develop a mineral extraction research and development project for the mining industry. With an additional $492,500 contribution from Natural Resources Canada the total public investment exceeds $640,000.
The research project will help build a sustainable and competitive mining industry by developing a way to extract copper from regular and lower-grade ores, as well as waste mining materials and tailings. If this initiative is applied at commercial scale, it could help reduce emissions and water use, while lowering costs for companies.
“Jetti Resources has been pleased to participate in the Natural Resources Canada and Innovate BC programs advancing technologies with an impact in a clean future that maximizes the use of our resources,” said Nelson Mora, Vice President of Engineering and Science or knowledge put into practical use to solve problems or invent useful tools. at Jetti Resources.
Founded in 2014, Jetti has developed a novel hydrometallurgical technology to extract metals of value from mineral ores that the mining industry has struggled to process.
